After the civil registration formalities are complete, the couple received a blessing from the monks at the temple site. While Buddhist monks were not legally formalize the ceremony, they do a religious service, in order to bless the couple.

Start the marriage ritual
The act of marrying is usually done by choosing the bride in secrecy. Payment may be made by parents or by the groom. When a boy finds the ideal girl, sends a family friend’s house girl. The friend usually takes a bottle of wine and a white silk scarf. Its role is to see if the bride’s family shows responsiveness to the proposal.
If the family agrees, the two families decide to meet. At the meeting members of two families a meeting to mark the engagement happen. Tradition dictates that the boy offers the girl a gift, it can even be a piece of land.

The family decides the color of the costumes of the bride and groom never choosing the color black. Warm colors like red or gold are the preferred colors for the occasion.
The bride wears a Buddhist called embroidery, traditional bhaku. The dress looks like a long sarong. The bride wears the dress with a sleeveless blouse, complete with a special coat, a scarf and some jewelry made ??of precious and semiprecious stones such as pearls. The bride also uses special shoes made for the wedding.
The groom also wears a Buddhist bhaku, but with sleeves. The bhaku has a length to the ankles. This costume is used with an embroidered vest called lajha. The groom wears a cape embroidered and also a band around the waist.

Before marriage

The maternal uncles of both sides play the role in negotiating the marriage. The groom’s side the mother and the like represent the major roles. In the case of the bride, all family and friends participate in the occasion. Guests bring a typical drink Tsang and various meats for the bride’s house.
