Wedding Photography Poses
Everybody wants their wedding to be perfect and the most important thing is the pictures taken that day. Therefore, the hardest thing to do on that big day is to give the perfect wedding poses. A lot of things happen during a wedding. Hence, to get everyone in one place at the right moment becomes difficult. Most of the guests feel shy and do not want to pose for photographs. Therefore, if you are assertive, confident and request in a polite manner, the guests will be at ease, and the wedding photography poses will turn out to be better.
If you are in the profession of photography or are interested in taking pictures, you need to follow certain guidelines as mentioned below.
The body, shoulders and head should be positioned at an angle. Most of the professional photographers ensure that the people face the camera at an angle. This creates a dynamic and more flattering image.
The head should be tilted on one side. A diagonal line should be formed from one eye to another to create a dynamic image. You can achieve this by making the person tilt his head. As per traditions, the eyes of the bride should always be tilted closest to the camera towards her shoulder. However, the groom has to tilt his eyes further away from the camera.
Further, the chin height should be maintained in the wedding photography poses. As a photographer, you should ensure that the chin height of the person posing should not be too high or too low. If it is too high, it can create the impression of haughtiness, and if it is too low then it provides an impression of low self-esteem. Moreover, you need to see that the hands are placed perfectly. You should make sure that the hands are placed sideways to the camera instead of the palm or back towards the camera. This pose will give a more flowing, natural line of photography. Also, ensure that the fingers of the person are slightly apart or else the hands will look rather unflattering and rigid. Further, in order to give a more relaxed look, the wrists must be bent slightly.
In addition, care should be taken about the feet as well. The feet of the person should not be pointing towards the camera directly to avoid making them look very short or wide. While standing, distribution of weight on both the feet should be avoided. One foot should slightly be in front of the other, thus making sure that the back foot takes on most of the weight. The knee of the front leg should be slightly bent. This will allow the person to look more relaxed while posing for the wedding photographs.
The rules mentioned above should be followed for good portraits too. For getting the perfect wedding photography poses, you should make the bride and bridegroom turn towards each other. You can make them stand with each other as if they are ready for ballroom dancing.
